Gay rights in the US, state by state

The Guardian US interactive team show in an interactive visualization the variance that exists from state to state in terms of gay rights, covering several issues such as laws in each state regarding same-sex marriage; hospital visitation; hate crimes; adoption; and workplace, school and housing discrimination. Segmented concentric circles make the foundation of the interactive where each circle is an issue, and each segment is a state. The states are organized by region, so it's easy to see where areas of the country stand.
