990 people shot dead by police in 2015
The Post found that in 2015, on-duty police officers shot and killed 990 people nationwide and created a national database that they used to illustrate how often and why police shoot to kill. For this work The Washington Post has won the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting. This visualization was created using this data base and lets the user explore the 2015 database by filtering by the data that is more interesting to him/her.
