Battling Infectious Diseases in the 20th Century: The Impact of Vaccines
This of heat map made by The Wall Street Journal shows the number of cases of people infected by an infectious disease per 100,000 people in 17 different US states. It also allows users to see when vaccines were introduced for each infectious disease (Measles, Hepatitis A, Mumps, Polio, and Rubella) and the impact that these had in reducing infection cases. It also includes a chart for two diseases for which no vaccine was introduced.
