The Cost of Human Life

In present days slavery is still practiced in many countries in different forms: sexual exploitation, servitude, forced labor, illegal adoptions for labor, child soldiers, forced marriage and organ trade. The International Labor Organization estimates that 20.9 million people are victims of forced labor globally. According to the Global Report on Trafficking Persons(2012), at least 136 different nationalities were trafficked in 118 different countries. This visualization presents the cost of human life through different periods in human history.
