March Madness: do the tallest teams always win the NCAA championship?
This visualization by The Guardian shows an analysis of the average height of NCAA Division I basketball teams over the course of more than 5,000 games during the 2012 season, while trying to understand if there is a relation between the height of the players and the victories of the teams. As it turns out, college basketball teams that are taller are likely to win more games than teams that are shorter. For every extra inch in the average playing height of the team, they are expected to win a little more than two games more than they would have otherwise.
