Doze Anos de Incêndios

"Doze Anos de Incêndios" is a visualization by the Portuguese newspaper Público. The visualization is part of a larger piece about the risks that the Portuguese forest faces, the possible causes, and the response to actual fires. They took the ICNF (the national institute for nature and forests conservation) list of fires in mainland Portugal from 2001 to 2012 and built a display that lets the user know in which year there were more fires, in which municipalities they have occurred and at what time were the alerts to those fires given.
