The New York Times created a statistical election-forecasting machine that, every day, churns through the latest polls and reams of historical data to calculate both Democrats' and Republicans' chances of winning control of the Senate. Every day, Leo, The New York Times' Senate forecasting model, assigns each possible general-election matchup a probability based on primary polling and fund-raising data.
